Online charity events to learn Spanish and support good causes
Confidently Spanish Charity Events are activities with other friends, such as fellow teachers, psychologists and self-care practitioners. They will take the form of interviews, talks, workshops, etc. We will cover a variety of topics, such as Spanish culture (music, literature, art, festivals, gastronomy, popular culture, etc.), language learning (how the brain works, the difficulties of learning languages, etc.) and, of course, animal rights and environmental issues.
Why a charity event?
One of the things that defines me as a person is my interest in contributing to this world in my own small way to make it a better place to live.
By getting involved in different projects throughout my life, I have discovered that collaborating, cooperating and helping (in one way or another) is an essential part of my life and myself as a person. It is, in fact, a sign of my identity, which gives purpose to my existence and my time on planet earth.
For all these reasons, when the idea of creating and developing Confidently Spanish was born, it had to have a charitable aspect so that the whole project would be nourished by my true essence and reflect who I am.

One of the driving forces in my life is my deep love and respect for animals and nature.
Since I was little, I have had a special sensitivity towards animals, which led me to suffer a lot, as I never felt understood by those around me and could not identify why I cried when I saw a cat in the street, a mistreated dog, or a calf being separated from its mother to be taken to the slaughterhouse.
It hurt my soul, I felt terrible, and I asked questions, but the only answer I got was, ‘Come on, calm down, they're just animals, it's not worth getting so upset about it.’
So, without the tools I needed to deal with those experiences, I came to believe that it was all my fault, that I was too sensitive, and that there was something wrong with me.
Over the years, as I matured and grew, I began to change my perspective on that suffering. My view of life changed and, most importantly, I was able to understand myself, accept myself and, above all, embrace that part of me and use it to do something good for the other beings that inhabit the planet with human beings and transform this world into a less cruel place.
Talks with soul: culture, language, and solidarity
As you can see, it's a mixed bag, but they all have one thing in common: they will be in Spanish. The aim is for my students (and anyone else interested in talking) to attend a conversation between native speakers in a friendly and informal setting on topics of cultural and social interest.
The purpose of these events is to collaborate with small animal shelters, environmental protection associations and associations involved in friendly social causes, for whom this small financial contribution would mean the world.
How do these events work?
- These meetings will be held online, so you can participate from anywhere in the world via a video conferencing platform.
- I will schedule them in advance so you can make yourself available if you'd wish to attend.
- They will last an hour and a half to give us time to introduce the topic, let the guest speaker talk, and then have a round of questions.
- You can register by using the form when the event is announced and I will send you a link on the day.
Sign up and join the next charity event
There is no minimum participation fee. Each participant can contribute with as much as they wish. The aim of these charity events is to raise funds to help a different charity each time.
The maximum number of participants will be 100, although this may vary depending on demand. Leave us your details and you’ll receive the link for the next event a few days in advance.
