Read, learn, and connect in Spanish
Reading shows you words in action and in real context. This helps you learn how they are really used—not just how they are translated—making you feel more comfortable expressing yourself over time.

What can reading do for you?
Improve your grammar without memorising rules: by seeing structures repeatedly in the texts, your brain begins to recognise and use them naturally. In addiction you'll discover Hispanic culture, because each book opens the door to new stories, accents, and cultures. Reading brings you closer to the different ways of speaking and living in Spanish.

You’ll be able to join the group and take part in the monthly meetings

Who organises it?
This club is a collaboration between Marina, from Confidently Spanish, and Ana, from La Imaginaria.
Ana will accompany the group on a daily basis: facilitating discussions, posing questions, and creating a welcoming and enjoyable reading environment.
Marina will provide her linguistic expertise, be available to answer grammar or vocabulary questions as they come up, and will also participate in the WhatsApp group.

Would you like to join? This is what the Club looks like inside
We already have an extensive list of selected books, offering a mixture of historical novels, travel writing, graphic novels, essays on wellbeing, psychology, critical thinking, culture, and more.
We will choose from a diverse range of texts, and of course, there will also be room for your suggestions!
Who can participate?
- You need an upper-intermediate level. Upon registering, you will complete a level assessment to ensure you can participate in the Book Club. This intermediate to upper-intermediate level will allow you to follow straightforward texts, recognise grammatical structures, and continue learning at your own pace.
- You love reading, but your time is limited.
- You wish to share ideas with others and become part of a relaxed reading community.
How does it work?
- We read one to two chapters per week.
- We meet online on the third Thursday of each month, from 6 pm to 7:30 pm (CET).
- We will join a WhatsApp group to stay connected throughout the month. In this group, you will receive thought-provoking questions about each book we read, and you will also be able to share your thoughts, as well as ask grammar-related questions, for example.
Why join a Book Club?
Books are a window into the many ways of living, thinking, and feeling in Spanish, from the streets of Madrid to the Andes or the Caribbean.
Reading is one of the most enjoyable and natural ways to learn a language. When we read, we not only acquire new vocabulary but also hear the language from within: its rhythms, expressions, and emotions.
This Spanish book club was created to help you discover Spanish through literature, without pressure, simply enjoying the journey. Reading a little each day—even if just for 15 minutes—will transform your relationship with the language: your vocabulary will expand, grammatical structures will become more familiar, and your comprehension will develop almost without you realising it.

And best of all: you will not be reading alone.
In this Spanish book club, words become conversations. Hearing how others interpret a scene, share a phrase that touched them, or explain something in their own accent allows you to learn in an authentic and natural way.
Each meeting is an opportunity to practise your Spanish, but also to connect, laugh, discover new perspectives, and feel supported on your journey to mastering the language.
